Life always seems a little more chaotic when you're trying to leave town for a few days, so Doggywalker.com has prepared this handy checklist to help ease your stress. You can print it and use it to help you ensure everything is ready to go for your pet and for your caregiver. Two minutes now can save two hours later-don't you agree? While much of this information should be included in your profile, we want to be sure that everything we have is current. Our goal is to provide your pet and home with the care that is closest to what you provide.

For The Office

  • Provide the Doggywalker.com office with all your contact information for while you are away and other emergency contacts if you will not be reachable
  • Provide the office with any updates for your pets profile
  • Medicines that need to be administered
  • Changes in feeding schedule
  • Changes to walk routine
  • Illnesses
  • Vet information
  • Anything that may have changed
  • Verify that the office has two sets of working keys on file-drop them off or arrange for pick-up if they do not

For Your Caregiver

  • Leave a working copy of your mailbox key (if needed) so your caregiver can collect your mail
  • Let your caregiver know what night is "trash night" in your neighborhood, and where trash and recycling should be left for pick up
  • Do you receive daily newspapers? Let your caregiver know
  • List which plants need to be watered and how often
  • Check that you have plenty of pet food, treats, and other supplies and let your caregiver know where extra is stored
  • Check that your leash and collar are in proper working order
  • May your pet(s) be on the furniture? Let us know so we can follow your routine
  • Are there any commands you are practicing? Behaviors you're reinforcing?
  • Does your home have any quirks? Let us know if the toilet handle needs to be giggled, the bathroom faucet always drips, or anything else that might get us worried
  • Would you like daily notes? Or one note at the end of the visits?
  • Are there any parking restrictions where you live? Does the caregiver need a parking pass?
