Training and Learning

“Dogs’ lives are too short.  Their only fault, really.” – Agnes Sligh Turnbull

Dogs are wonderful creatures, with amazing qualities that make them friendly, playful, loyal, and intelligent.  They speak a different language that is often misunderstood and while there are endless books, websites, and other resources available, it can be challenging to translate their language without professional advice.  There is so much potential in what your dog can become, which makes the journey of training truly wonderful, exciting, and rewarding.
I chose this profession because I want to help others unlock this potential!  Servicing others has always been a part of my nature, and with my ten years’ experience in hospitality, I have developed many skills to help get the teaching and learning started among dog owners and their furry companions.  I am excited to bring this passion to DoggyWalker.com by offering three training and learning service options.
The first training option, “Love That Pup” Package, is recommended for new puppy owners. Whether you got your puppy from a breeder or adopted one from a rescue organization, by choosing this option you will receive the necessary guidance and preparation tailored to you and your puppy’s circumstances. If you have yet to bring your puppy home, I will help you set up everything prior to his/her arrival and will guide you through the first few months to ensure a smooth transition.   The “Love That Pup” Package includes:

  • Potty training
  • Chew toy training
  • Crate/confinement training
  • Customized interventions
  • Teaching bite inhibition
  • Proper canine nutrition
  • Leash walking
  • Socialization with adults and children
Please email me with any questions about this training option or schedule today!
Puppy Kindergarten is our second option, which is a group training class for up to five puppies and an extension of the “Love That Pup” Package.  It is recommended for puppies aged 12-18 weeks old and includes instructions for them (and you) with appropriate ways to interact with both humans and other dogs. The seven-week class will also cover topics such as basic commands (sit, down, stay, come, follow, etc.), bite inhibition, getting used to collars/harnesses/leashes, and more. A complete syllabus will be provided at the time of class registration. Classes are forming now and will be held at the Arlington location: please email me with any questions about this training option or schedule today!

The third training option is for In-Home Training, created specifically for adolescent/adult dogs that will help to resolve new or already developed undesirable habits. This is a customized training option; please email me with your questions and areas of need.

I invite all new and current dog owners to take on and succeed in the challenge that comes with having a canine family member, whether it’s a puppy or an adult dog. I look forward to meeting you!
Sincerely,
